We are delighted to announce details of this year’s biggest school fundraising event.

 The MARQUEZ SPRING AUCTION

Where: Penthouse at the Sheraton Delfina Hotel, Santa Monica
When:  April 21, 2012 at 6pm
What:  Cocktail reception, dinner, silent and live auction, dancing to The Ferocious Detours…
Theme:  MIDNIGHT IN PARIS

 Tickets are $115 per person (including a donation to Friends of Marquez and valet parking.)  Invitations will be sent out shortly.  Please RVSP promptly with all details requested!  We will have set seating again this year and this will be organized separately closer to the evening.

We hope to break all fundraising records again this year.  State budget deficits mean we need more money than ever to support our wonderful teachers and school.  All money raised will fund the programs that make Marquez the school that we are proud of.

OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $100,000 – But we need your help!

 In addition to putting the date in your calendar, booking the sitter, here is how you can make an impact:

• Every family please donate at least 1 auction item per Marquez student.
• Donate something. Your time, expertise, assets – such as the use of your holiday home for a week or spare debenture tickets to your favorite sporting event or theater.
• Solicit a donation. From a local business or any personal contact you may have. Now is the time to network and ask. Popular items include restaurant vouchers, event tickets, unique experiences, photography, spa treatments, wine, tax preparation, you name it.  Aim for value to be at least $150. Attached are a letter and donation form to use. Extra forms available in the office or via email.
• 1 Gift basket per Grade level (no class baskets).  If you’d like to do a class project, let us know.
• Volunteer to help on the evening of the auction. Underwriting expenses, an hour on the check in desk, setting up and merchandising, bidder spotting and more help needed.
• Buy a ticket to the event.  Join in the fun with other Marquez parents and teachers.  Encourage your friends to join you.
• Teacher tickets are complimentary.
• Get ready to bid.  The Silent and Live auction await!
• Make a cash donation.
