Offering art, music and drama classes in addition to the required academic ones offers a well rounded education. In addition, a study by the Imagination Project at UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies shows that time spent singing, dancing and experimenting with art can drive up test scores. Data indicates that students involved in the arts do better in school than those that aren’t involved. Enrichment classes also help to reduce class size by sending half of a classroom to enrichment at a time. Last year we were able to reduce classroom size 4x/week in the upper grades and 1x/week in the primary grades, where class size is already much lower.
