School tours are given throughout the school year to prospective parents. Just call the front office to arrange one. Also, an orientation meeting for parents of kindergarten children is held just before school starts. The Welcome Coffee in the first week of school also gives new parents a chance to meet returning parents. Just call the front office at 310.454.4019 to arrange one.
Parents can follow their Kindergarteners’ academic progress through the Kindergarten Weekly Letter, which explains the areas of study each child will explore for the week and sets forth the week’s specific goals and objectives. Since each Kindergarten teacher tries to individualize the education to meet the needs of each child, there are variations in those goals according to the needs and abilities of individual children.
Kindergarten Buddies is a program where experienced Marquez parent volunteers are assigned to new Kindergarten families to assist and guide them with any questions they may have over the school year. You are given your Buddy’s name and phone number at the Kindergarten Orientation.
If you have any questions regarding involvement at Marquez Charter School, please come to or school office or call 310- 454-4019.
