Governance

As a LEARN/Charter school, Marquez Charter School has greater autonomy over curriculum, budget and school governance, as spelled out in its Charter.

The Marquez Governing Board is responsible for making administrative, curriculum related, budgetary and other policy decisions for Marquez.

The Governing Board consists of six teachers, one classified representative, the Principal and four parents/guardians of students attending the Marquez Charter School.

Representatives are elected by their respective constituency.

The Governing Board generally meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month while school is in session at 6:00 p.m. in the school library and the public is welcome and encouraged to observe it as it deliberates and generates decisions concerning agenda items.

It operates pursuant to its Bylaws, and the Minutes of its regular and special meetings are available to the public.
