GATE
Gifted and Talented Education
The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program is a state-funded program that is provided for students in grades 3-5, who have been qualified through an identification process established by the District. In 4th and 5th grades students are regrouped for language arts instruction. Third grade students are clustered for differentiated instruction within the classroom.
Students are identified in the intellectual category by a district psychological assessment that indicates superior cognitive ability. Students can qualify in the high achievement category by achieving a minimum score on the Stanford Achievement Test and teacher recommendation.
